What Leg Height Should You Choose?

UNAR hotel beds are fitted with 6 cm legs as standard. However, the height can be customised upon request to meet the specific requirements of each project.

Higher legs create more clearance between the floor and the bed base. This makes the space underneath the bed easier to access for cleaning. Lower legs, on the other hand, bring the bed visually closer to the floor and create a more compact appearance.

When choosing the right height, it is therefore important to consider housekeeping requirements, the type of flooring and the desired overall bed height.

The Overall Bed Height Is Not Determined by the Mattress Alone

The final height of a hotel bed is determined by a combination of several elements – the bed base, legs or plinth, mattress and optional topper. Changing any one of these components will therefore affect the overall height of the bed.

This influences not only how comfortable it is for guests to sit down and get up, but also the proportions of the bed in relation to the headboard, bedside tables and other furnishings in the room.

For this reason, we recommend selecting the individual components as one complete system rather than separately.

When Should You Choose a Plinth?

Legs are not the only option. An alternative is a plinth, which covers the space between the bed base and the floor.

A plinth gives the bed a more unified appearance and can be a suitable choice for interiors with clean lines and a streamlined design.
